Dulrush Jetty
Dulrush Jetty is located approximately 100 metres from Dulrush Fishing Lodge. Boat hire is available from the jetty, as are the services of a ghillie if required. You can hire a boat for the day, weekend or for a week long stay. We provide a transport service for all our boats, which means you don’t have to worry about bringing yours with you.
Simply hire one of ours and we can take care of the rest. If you are staying at the lodge, our jetty is freely accessible. You can also moor your own boat on our jetty; if you wish to do so, there is a daily cost involved. Simply call or email us to make your booking.
Fishing on Lough Erne
The Lough is a mixed coarse and game fishery. The game angling, in the main, takes place on the Lower Lough, although trout are found throughout the system. The Lower Lough is a large expanse of water, over 15 miles long with numerous islands and bays. These provide vast areas of shallow water and rocky shores making for ideal fishing grounds. Although a limited number of salmon run the Lough, wild brown trout is the main quarry.
Fishing on Lough Melvin
Situated approximately 4 kilometres from Dulrush Fishing Lodge, Lough Melvin is one of Ireland’s most famous Loughs. It is home to three distinct species of trout – the sonaghan, the gillaroo and the ferox – as well as enjoying a run of spring salmon and grilse. Fishing starts in February with the arrival of the first salmon and continues through the months with grilse from May to July and wonderful trout fishing throughout the season. Trolling is the most used method for the springers, but fly fishing for the sonaghan and gillaroo, as well as the grilse, is excellent.
Fishing on Lough Macnean (Lower and Upper)
Set within some of Ireland’s most scenic countryside, the Macnean Loughs offer quality fishing in picturesque surroundings. There are some areas with depths varying between 2 and 5 metres, with some deeper water at mid lake. Lough Macnean has good stocks of medium sized pike and larger fish in excess of 20 lbs are recorded annually.
The pike stock is supported by an abundance of coarse fish and some brown trout. Extensive areas of shoreline may be fished from the bank, but as with all large waters, the use of a boat will provide the best results. This is joint jurisdictional water which straddles the border with Northern Ireland. Visiting anglers should acquaint themselves with the legislative requirements for fishing Northern Ireland areas.
Fishing at Navar Forest (Lough Achork, Glencreawan and Meenameen)
These Loughs lie in wonderful mountain scenery in the Navar Forest Park. Achork and Meenameen hold good stocks of brown trout, which are augmented with some 7000 takeable brown trout.
Fishing on Keenaghan Lough
This pretty limestone Lough is situated 2 kilometres from Dulrush Fishing Lodge. It is stocked annually with 7500 takeable trout and provides excellent fishing where high average size trout of 2.5 kilos and more are possible.
Assaroe Lake
Assaroe Lake is a 234 hectare artificial lake created by the Cathleen Falls and Cliff Hydro schemes. Located just east of Ballyshannon, Co. Donegal, this lake is situated on the Erne -Shannon estuary to the Atlantic Ocean. Locals regularly fish this really magnificent lake.
Mountain Lakes
There is an abundance of mountain lakes within a 15 kilometre radius of Dulrush Fishing Lodge. Details can be obtained from owners at Dulrush Fishing Lodge or The Black Cat Cove.
